Social life

Royal Roads University has a welcoming atmosphere and a small, friendly community of students and faculty. You will receive free membership to the on-campus University Recreation Center where you can use the weight room, squash courts, tennis courts, and aerobics studio. Personal training, yoga, dance, spin class, basketball, badminton, volleyball, indoor soccer, ping-pong, and floor hockey are also available. 

Whether you're interested in music, leadership, the environment, or fitness, there are a variety of ways you can get involved in university life through clubs and student organizations. Have an idea for a new club or activity group? Your ideas will be welcomed at RRU.

Home life

If you are under 18 you will live with a carefully selected homestay family near to the campus. If you are 19 or over, you can choose between homestay and private accommodation. 

Homestay accommodation allows you to live and speak English with a Canadian family. This offers an excellent introduction to Canadian culture and daily life.

Location

Royal Roads University is set within 2.6 km2 of stunning oceanfront parkland. You will have access to walking, hiking and biking trails, a Japanese garden, a castle and stunning mountain views. The campus is a National Heritage site known for being one of the most beautiful places to study in North America.
