Foundation Diploma launched at James Madison University

May 2010

Study Group, in association with James Madison University (JMU), has designed value-packed Foundation Diploma and Pre-Master's programs at its on-campus International Student Center.

An attractive new opportunity is being offered at the established International Study Center (ISC) on the James Madison University campus.

The Foundation Diploma is a fast-track path to a US degree, saving students both time and money. Successful completion of the program ensures direct placement into the second (sophomore) year of an undergraduate degree.

The Foundation Diploma is for international students who have not yet reached the English language requirements for direct entry to a degree. The program includes both English for Academic Purposes and the equivalent of the first year (freshman) of university coursework. In the nurturing environment of the International Study Center, students take nine academic credit-bearing courses (earning up to 27 credits) that are transferable to degree programs offered at the host university.

Acclimatize into university life at top US schools

Fast-track your way to American academic life at a top US university with the Foundation Diploma for international students.

The Foundation Diploma replaces the previous English Transition Program offered to international students.

The Pre-Master's program is an academically-focused route to a wide choice of Master's degrees at James Madison University.

The Pre-Master's program is designed for international students whose academic qualifications meet the requirements of a JMU graduate program, but whose English level is not yet proficient. Students have the opportunity to study up to two credit-bearing graduate level university courses, drawn from the relevant field of study.

James Madison University (JMU) is a top-ranked public USA university located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The University is situated in the scenic Shenandoah Valley, just 2 hours from Washington, DC. JMU offers more than 100 degree programs at bachelor's, master's, educational specialist and doctoral levels.
