Cost of studying at a US or Canadian university

How much will it cost to send my child to a North American university?

The price of a North American education varies according to institution. Private universities are more expensive but usually offer more individual attention and extra facilities, while public/state institutions tend to be larger, but less expensive. Tuition fees in Canada are generally lower than fees in the USA. Undergraduate degree tuition costs between $16,000 and $30,046 per year, and a Master's degree tuition between $27,540 and $82,246 for the entire program. Search for a degree by price.

You should plan for the additional costs associated with studying at university and the cost of living in the surrounding area. Additional costs beyond the tuition fee include accommodation, meals, insurance, books, laundry, clothing, personal items, transportation, and cell phone.

Please note that when your child applies to university through us, you will need to submit your bank/financial statements with the application.

Will I be getting the best value for my money?

Are there payment options or financial help available?

We do not offer scholarships or fee discounts, but you can spread the cost of sending your child to university across the year, by taking advantage of our two-part payment option. There may be limited scholarship opportunities available from your own country. Once at university in the USA or Canada, international students may be permitted to undertake paid work on campus for up to 20 hours per week (conditions may apply).

Your child's health and safety

Will my son or daughter be safe in America?

As part of our services, we will provide your son or daughter with a Student Handbook that includes safety tips. Upon arrival for university, we can book a transfer so your child will be met at the airport and taken to their accommodation. University residence staff or homestay families will make sure they are settled in. All of the universities we work with take student safety very seriously.

Just like everywhere else in the world, there is crime in the United States and Canada. But the odds of being a victim of a crime are very low. Every city has areas that might not be particularly safe, and everyone should use good judgment and take basic precautions (e.g. don't carry large amounts of cash, lock doors, don't leave valuables unattended) to maintain a level of safety.

What if my child is involved in an accident or has a medical need?

Every university we work with provides student health services on campus. In addition, all our students are protected by StudyCare, a comprehensive student insurance policy. StudyCare insurance provides accident and medical cover, as well as insurance against loss of personal possessions.

What if my child has an issue that requires immediate attention?

Parents and students have access to a 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, Study Group telephone hotline. This service will help to promptly resolve any problems or concerns that your child has at university in the USA or Canada.
