Royal Roads University faculty have significant real-world experience. The International Study Center on campus provides the highest levels of support during degree preparation programs - with small class sizes, individual attention and teaching tailored specifically to international students.

Accelerated undergraduate degrees

Note: you can complete a Foundation Studies program at the International Study Center if your academic qualifications or English level do not yet meet the requirement for a bachelor's degree.

RRU offers 6 bachelor's degrees taught on campus. The accelerated degree option allows you to complete your undergraduate degree in just three years. Both domestic and international students take common academic courses plus degree-level study skills during Years 1 and 2 of their undergraduate program. The accelerated option compresses Year 3 and 4 into 12 months of full-time academic coursework in your chosen major.

Master of Global Management degree

Note: you can complete a Pre-Master's program at the International Study Center if your academic qualifications or English level do not yet meet the requirement for this master's degree.

The Master of Global Management degree prepares you to develop strong entrepreneurial and managerial skills and competencies to succeed in an international business world. You will gain an informed perspective, the ability to observe and learn outside your culture, and the skills to work effectively in uncertain and ambiguous situations. You have the choice of completing the master's program in 12 months with the International Industry Analysis Project, or in 18 months with the Canadian Internship option.

Accommodation

Full-time students at Royal Roads University live off-campus in either private or homestay accommodation.

Students who are 18 and under must stay in homestay accommodation - this means you live with Canadian families, participate in Canadian culture and customs, and can enhance your English language study through practice with the host family. The family provides a private, furnished bedroom. All homes are located in the appealing and safe neighborhoods of Greater Victoria, accessible to Royal Roads University by public transportation. Most homestay locations are between 20 and 45 minutes from campus.

Students aged 19 or over who would prefer a more independent living environment can live in private accommodation. Royal Roads University can assist in making arrangements. Private accommodation options have kitchen facilities, are often shared with other students, and are located in downtown Victoria (about 30 minutes by car from the university campus). 

Meals

The Habitat Cafe on the university campus has a comfortable atmosphere and a varied menu with hot food available all day. Homestay students have meals included in their fee. The cost of food is not included in the fee for students living in private accommodation.

• Computers for student use: 5 computer labs; 3 are open 24 hours a day; 46 terminals in the library.
• Security services: 24 hour patrols by security personnel, emergency phones, safety escorts at night, closed circuit TV monitoring.

Campus description

Royal Roads University campus covers 2.27km² of peaceful, ocean-side parkland at the southern tip of Vancouver Island. 100-year-old Hatley Castle - a popular tourist attraction - is at the center of campus.

This remarkable university setting has great access to kayaking and other water sports, world-renowned heritage gardens, an extensive network of forested hiking and running trails, a bird sanctuary, and a view of the Pacific Ocean and the Olympic Mountains.

Students have access to science labs, career services, writing center, recreation center, shop, bookstore, ATM, wireless network, chapel, museum, and free castle guided tours.

Victoria
Victoria is a safe, clean and attractive city with a relaxed pace and lots of university and college students. Victoria has a temperate 'oceanic' climate. Its residents enjoy mild, almost snow-free winters, and relatively dry and pleasant summers. Getting over 2,200 hours of sun each year, Victoria is one of the sunniest places in Canada. The bustling city center has a host of shops, entertainment, pubs and restaurants surrounding the beautiful inner harbour. It has a thriving business community and is well known as an urban center surrounded by nature: it's possible to ski in the morning and sail in the afternoon! Vancouver's scenic location makes it a major tourist destination. Visitors enjoy the gardens, mountains, ocean and parkland surrounding the city, as well as its many cultural attractions. With a fast-growing economy, Vancouver is now an important center for biotechnology, computer software, financial services, film-making, education and natural resources.
